BSHP members manage over 40,000 tenancies, and have a presence in every neighbourhood in Birmingham. Their aim is to maintain safe and thriving communities through strong partnership working between Registered Providers and other agencies, such as Birmingham City Council and the Police.
BSHP’s Community Safety Coordinator is a key point of contact between these agencies and is co-located with the City Council in the Neighbourhoods Partnership team.
The Community Safety Coordinator can help tackle antisocial behaviour and reduce harm across the city in a number of ways, such as:
- Brokerage with individual cases. This might be help with making links with the right person in another organisation or calling partners or statutory agencies together to resolve complex and serious issues.
- Providing a range of training opportunities.
- Providing regular updates and briefings.
- Work with partners and statutory bodies to develop a range of innovative projects, such as Restorative Justice, and Adult Safeguarding
